Town Committees

The Town of Kennebunk is privileged to have a committed group of volunteers who generously give their time and talents to a variety of committees (boards, committees and commissions). All committee members are appointed by the Select Board; terms of each committee vary. All meetings are open to the public; agendas and minutes can be viewed here.

Interested in Joining a Town Committee?

If you would like to join a committee, we ask that you fill out an online committee volunteer form. The Appointment Working Group will review the application and schedule a 10-minute interview with you prior to making a recommendation to the Select Board. If you would prefer to print the form, you will find the PDF under Quick Links tab on the right.

Please note that not all committees currently have openings; however, vacancies occur on a regular basis, so we encourage you to apply.  For more information about current openings and/or committee responsibilities, click on one of the links below:

Please note that the Town Charter has attendance requirements that apply to committees. Failure to attend three regular meetings in a row or 25% of all meetings in a six-month period may result in forfeiture of a position on the committee.

The intent is to help not only foster collaboration in furthering the goals of the various boards and committees but help all involved have clear expectations of how to function efficiently and transparently.
