Waterhouse Youth Endowment
In 2013, long-time Kennebunk resident Geraldine Waterhouse and her granddaughter Paige Hill donated $1.5 million to create an endowment (in perpetuity) to the Town of Kennebunk to foster and enhance the health and well-being of local youth by providing recreational and educational opportunities in a safe and healthy environment in downtown Kennebunk.
In conjunction with the endowment, and with the generous donations and support from local residents and businesses, the Town built a unique four season open family pavilion located at 51 Main Street. The pavilion has been named the “Waterhouse Center," after the donors, the Waterhouse family.
Proceeds from the endowment will be used for the maintenance of the ice skating rink, provide free ice skating for the community’s youth, and a wide variety of year-long activities for youth and their families. Multi-generational programming includes educational, athletic, team-building, cultural and civic-oriented activities.
