General Information about Taxes in Kennebunk

  • The Town of Kennebunk’s fiscal year runs from July 1st through June 30th.
  • Tax bills are assessed to the owner of the property as of April 1st each year.
  • Interest accrues immediately after each due date. Please call the Tax Collector’s Office for the most current payment information (207) 985-2102 x 1606.
  • Tax bills are mailed to the taxpayers at the address registered with the Assessor’s Office. For taxpayers that have taxes in escrow, it is their responsibility to forward this information to their mortgage company. Taxpayers should retain a copy for their records.
  • Water and Sewer are separate entities from the Town. You can reach the Kennebunk Water Department at 207-985-3385 and the Kennebunk Sewer Department at 207-985-4741.

You can pay your tax bill in one of the following ways:

  • In person at the Tax Collector's Office. Interest accrues daily after the due date so please call in advance to obtain a pay-off amount.
  • Mail us your payment. Interest accrues daily after the due date so please call in advance to get a pay-off amount. Include the bottom portion of your tax bill with a check payable to the Town of Kennebunk. Please add your phone number to your check so we may contact you for any payment discrepancies.
  • Online with a credit card; there is a 2.5% surcharge fee to use this feature. Paying by credit card through Maine PayPort Online is voluntary and the final cost will be higher than other forms of payment due to the surcharge fee. Interest accrues daily after the due date so please call in advance to obtain a pay-off amount. Before getting started you will need the following:
    • Account number
    • Property address, including zip code
    • Payment Amount; when making a payment after the due date, call the Tax Collector's Office to obtain a pay-off amount (207) 985-2102 x 1606.
