The Town of Kennebunk has authorized the closing of certain Town ways, beginning at 6am on February 27, 2026, to any non-exempt vehicle or combination of vehicles registered for a gross weight of over 23,000 pounds.

Taxes can be paid in person, via mail or online.

The second installment of tax payments for Fiscal Year July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 (FY25-26) is due April 10, 2026.

Nomination papers must include at least 25 signatures and no more than 100 signatures from valid, registered voters of Kennebunk. The deadline for returning nomination papers is 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 10.

The Community Development Department has been made aware of fraudulent activity requesting wire transfer of fees.

We are advising the public that fraudulent actors have attempted to pose as the Town of Kennebunk “Board Commissioners” and are initiating contact with applicants to request an immediate wire transfer for fees associated with the review of their application. At no time will our department ever ask for a wire transfer of any funds associated with the review of an application.

The Select Board and Budget Board recently held a series of meetings to review various operational budgets, capital and debt service items for the Proposed 2026-27 Municipal Budget.

Kennebunk's Economic Development Committee has partnered with the Roux Institute to offer an eight-week program to help Kennebunk businesses scale and thrive.

The Town of Kennebunk, in partnership with Northeastern University’s Roux Institute, is launching Venture Forward Kennebunk, an eight-week program designed to help small business leaders and local entrepreneurs scale their businesses, explore new markets, and strengthen long-term sustainability through mentorship and innovation.

Participants will learn how to adopt emerging technologies, improve operational efficiency, refine their business models, and elevate their market presence. This year’s cohort will include up to fifteen businesses, and all businesses are encouraged to apply. The program is sponsored by the Kennebunk Economic Development Committee.

Venture Forward Kennebunk will run from March 31 through June 4, 2026, and will bring together a cohort of Kennebunk-based businesses for workshops, sessions led by Roux experts, and one-on-one mentorship. Applications are open from February 9 through March 9, 2026. Kennebunk businesses are encouraged to apply online at www.kennebunkmaine.us/ventureforward.

“Roux is a great partner, and we’re excited to offer this opportunity to the business community,” said Economic Vitality Director, Stephen Houdlette. “Venture Forward is tailored for businesses that are ready to take the next step.”

The program culminates in a final showcase, where participants will present their strategies at Roux to mentors and members of southern Maine’s business community for a final chance at feedback and to develop further collaborations.

Venture Forward Kennebunk welcomes applications from a wide range of businesses, including solo entrepreneurs and family-owned or legacy businesses seeking modernization or growth.

“We have so many great businesses in our community, and this program is designed to make them even better,” said Houdlette.

By the end of the program, participants will have developed a clear, actionable growth plan, increased digital fluency, and stronger connections within the Kennebunk business community and beyond.

The Kennebunk Free Library has launched a survey as part of "KFL: The Next Chapter", an ongoing effort to evaluate how the library’s building can best meet local needs in the years ahead.

The survey invites residents, library users, and community partners to share their feedback which will help identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities related to the library’s physical space and how it supports programs, services, and daily use.

“We’re eager to hear from as many voices as possible,” said Michelle Conners, Executive Director. “Community feedback will directly inform our understanding of what’s working well, where there are constraints, and how the library can continue to adapt over time.” 

As part of this exploratory process, the library is studying space usage, functionality, accessibility, and long-term sustainability. This survey is a way the public can participate in shaping the conversation before any specific proposals are developed. 

Board President Vicki Lyons underscored the importance of broad participation. “The library belongs to the community,” Lyons said. “This survey gives residents an opportunity to reflect on how they use the library today and what they hope it can provide in the future.”

The survey is available online at www.kennebunklibrary.org and will remain open through March 9. Paper copies are also available at the library for those who prefer to respond in person.
