Plans, Reports and Other Documents

The Town has completed a variety of planning documents that help guide growth and development in the town. These documents are reviewed regularly to ensure the town is meeting the necessary goals and objectives of each plan.

Comprehensive Plan

Kennebunk's Comprehensive Plan, which includes the Open Space Plan, is a policy document which outlines a vision for the future of the Town. The purpose of Kennebunk’s Comprehensive Plan is to provide guidance to public and private decision-makers regarding the development of the Town. In addition, the plan provides a framework for the development and updating of the Town's zoning and other land use ordinances. Traffic Management Studies

Kennebunk has seen and continues to see rapid growth in the amount of traffic in residential and commercial corridors. In an effort to manage the busiest traffic corridors before they become unmanageable, the Town has completed several access management studies listed below:

Subdivision Review Standards


The purpose of the Subdivision Review Standards is to assure the comfort, convenience, safety, health and welfare of the people, to protect the environment and to promote the development of an economically sound and stable community. To this end, in approving subdivisions within the Town of Kennebunk, Maine, the Board uses specific criteria before granting approval of proposed subdivisions.
