Housing: A Community Conversation
The Kennebunk Select Board has identified that housing is a priority issue for Kennebunk. On Wednesday, June 29, 2022, the Town hosted a Community Conversation on Housing at the Waterhouse Center, downtown Kennebunk. This event was an opportunity to engage the community in a conversation about 3 specific topics as they relate to the housing challenges Kennebunk is facing:
- Short-Term Rentals
- Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
- Affordable, Attainable & Available Housing
There were over 100 in attendance, including Select Board members, Town staff, various stakeholders, advocates and interested citizens. Attendees heard an overview of each of the topics in breakout sessions and had the chance to contribute to a conversation about each. Surveys were distributed after each session and the responses to the surveys will be used to help the Select Board and Town staff develop polices and strategies to address housing challenges in Kennebunk.
Contribute to the Conversation
If you did not have a chance to attend the workshop and would like to contribute to this conversation, you may complete a survey below on any of the 3 topics and submit it to the Community Development Department. Surveys may be returned in person to the 2nd floor of Town Hall, Room 216, by email, or by mail.
