York County Community Action Corporation (YCCAC) is a nonprofit organization that administers a variety of programs designed to help promote self-sufficiency and economic stability. They provide a variety of programs, tools and resources to assist homeowners acquire and maintain safe and affordable housing. YCCAC staff can work with you, one-on-one, to give you the tools and resources you need to address an immediate housing need, build or repair your credit, purchase or maintain your home, and provide assistance if you are at risk of foreclosure.

Maine State Housing Authority
The Maine State Housing Authority (MaineHousing) is an independent authority created by the Maine State Legislature in 1969 to address problems of unsafe, unsuitable, overcrowded, and unaffordable housing. At its core, the agency couples the efficiencies of the private financial markets with public purpose goals to provide affordable home ownership and rental housing opportunities for Maine people.
Subsidized Housing
With financing from MaineHousing and other government sources, affordable apartments have been developed across the State. In most cases, the rents for these apartments are pre-set. In some cases, the tenant pays a portion of their income towards rent.
